Ever since I was a kid, I've felt the most comfortable when I was making things. It didn't matter how, I could be drawing, crocheting, cutting up clothes, playing with leggos, or just playing in the dirt... this is what I love and I've decided its time to embrace this more.

Food for Thought: "Faith means, no worrying..."

... and then I feel ashamed for worrying. I know that its better to just trust in God, but we all need to be reminded sometimes, especially when situations around you appear as though things aren't working in your favor. It IS true, that having faith comes with "an inward reservoir of courage, hope, confidence, calmness, and assuring trust that all will come out well." I personally am much calmer when I realize that we're all only here for a short time and if we're patient and persevere through the trials and worship (always keeping God first) that things should turn out in the best possible way. God is the Best of Planners, no matter how "under control" you think you have things.... His Control will ALWAYS prevail... and in the best way.

Photos from the Shaolin Temple
During my most recent visit to China, I actually had a chance to visit the Shaolin temple. Its funny because I've been to this part of China 4 times already and didn't know that the Shaolin temple was only 30 minutes away. During the weekend I had a day off and my Chinese co-worker, Jim, asked if I wanted to check it out. The journey there was pretty cool...
We had to go up this winding road, all the way to the top of this mountain. The view was so nice. I loved every minute.
This sign was amusing to me... idk lol
The entrance made me feel like..."this is it?" lol but it opened up a bit more when we got through the walls. There was a lady standing at the front, telling Jim that she like my hair (in Chinese), asking if it was natural of if I bought it haha. smh.. no shame at all.
I usually don't do this but Jim offered to take the photo. I suped it up with an instagram filter (my new favorite app/social media network)
It seemed like the place was set up as a cluster of individual temples. There were stairs leading up to each one of them.

The biggest incense burner/holder I've ever seen in my life. The jawn was madd tall and filled with ash. I thought it was cool.
In this area, there's some history on their faith. This was actually the wall next to this open space that kids come and learn Kung Fu on the weekends. I was told the monks lived next door. Jim described them as "the bald guys" lol smh

Another incense burner. I thought the gold lettering on the pillars and walls were very nicely crafted.

I'm not sure what this is, but it caught my eye.
Photo of Jim with a Samurai sword. We were playing around on the way out. I got some nun chucks for the road. I don't know how to use them at all. I felt like Dragon Fly Jones lol.
The sun was starting to go down as we were traveling back down the winding road. The view was amazing.
I hopped out of the car to get this shot. I love watching the sunset, especially over mountains. To me, its a reminder of God's infinite greatness.
