JQ's Cookout

I spent the last day of my Memorial Day weekend at JQ's cookout. I brought Z with me so he could see how much more hilarious the ppl in south jersey are compared to the rest of the world.
JQ- I'm gonna have to get your mom's potato salad recipe because that's all I was hearing about the whole ride back. smh lol.
Anyway, as you can see, we played a little bit of volleyball. It got intense too.. personally, I'm very sore today, and I'm still trying to figure out how I'm gonna get those grass stains out of my jeans lol. I still can't believe I went that hard. I'm so mad at myself.

LMAO @ that smile Julian

The day after E's party..

I had a relaxing day with Z. His fam was cooking out and it was so hot outside. We went down to the lake and I took a few pics of the scenery. It's good to appreciate your surroundings from time to time.

CONGRATULATIONS ILLIANA!!

Illiana graduated (from good ol Monmouth University) last week so of course we had to celebrate. After a get together at her house we decided we were gonna hit the city for the night. We ended up going to Mansion and had a great time. E, I know you said you were sad after graduation because "it was the end" but like I said before, it's only the beginning! lol CONGRATS!!

I was chillin with a few friends one day and was introduced to Amber Lee, President of Kane & Couture. She does couture dog clothes, collars, leashes, beds, etc... and is VERY talented. She showed us the beginning concepts of a new collar and leash she's doing for a pit bull and it was SO HOT. If any of you guys like to spoil your dogs or know anyone who does, you can get in touch with her with the info below. Oh yeah and that's her dog.. isn't it so cute?! lol

THE BENEFITS OF CACAO CHOCOLATE

Jonry and Erica just came back from a development trip out in Korea and China. They were gone for 3 weeks and when they came back, they brought a whole bunch of treats... some of which were a few bars of chocolate. Jonry in particular developed a liking and a slight addiction to cacao chocolate. I looked it up because I heard before that it was good for you. I just didn't really know what was good about it.  Check it out:

With over 300 identifiable chemical compounds, cacao is one of the most complex and pleasurably satisfying foods on the planet. In its raw form, cacao contains anandamide (a euphoric substance), arginine (a natural aphrodisiac), neurotransmitters that stimulate and balance brain activity, tryptophan (an anti-depressant), antioxidants and other beneficial compounds known to have rejuvenating and anti-ageing elements. Cacao is high in the mineral magnesium, essential for helping the heart to pump blood efficiently, building strong bones, and lowering blood pressure. In fact, the strong desire for chocolate during the female menstrual cycle may be related to cravings for magnesium, a mineral with calming qualities. Cacao is a good source of the beauty mineral sulphur, responsible for healthy skin, nails and hair.

Here are some other chocolates they brought back...

The Benefits of Goji Berries

THE BENEFITS OF GOJI BERRIES

I've known about goji berries for a while now. They have so many benefits, I can't even begin to explain. I would recommend researching the benefits of these berries just so you can get  full overview of the benefits. I've provided a few here, as well as a source.

Goji berries are incredibly nutritious. For their weight -- a daily serving is only 10 to 30 grams -- goji berries have more vitamin C than oranges, more beta carotene than carrots and more iron than steak. Beta carotene is believed to help fight heart disease and also protects the skin from sun damage. Goji berries are also a good source of B vitamins and antioxidants, which protect against harmful free radicals that damage cells in your body. They’re also rich in polysaccharides, which aid the immune system, have 18 kinds of amino acids, and are a rich source of potassium. And, as if protecting your heart, skin and immune system weren’t enough, beta carotene and antioxidants are thought to help fight cancer.

A walk down Lexington Ave

I chilled with a couple friends last week and decided afterwards, instead of getting back on the train right away, I'd walk a few blocks to study my surroundings. I never get to do that. The city never ceases to amaze me. I took a couple pics. I was lookin like a tourist but oh well.

Inner Simplicity

You'll never believe that I found this book last night on my walk home. I took it as a clear sign that I should read it. Its goes with exactly what I've been feeling these days. I'm constantly thinking so I always have a lot on my mind. Its been getting a little overwhelming lately too.

I read the first few pages and thought it would be nice if I parapharased the book while I was reading it, just so people can discover how to do this while I am. The posts are going to be labeled "Inner Simplicity". Stay tuned.

Gavi saying "Cheeeeese"

I just want to be, I just want to be successful

I've been trying to find my real comfort zone and I think I'm getting closer. I felt like I spent the past 8 months thinking of what my niche is in this economic, competitive world.. Like what I can really do for the rest of my life, that can really impact people... And at the same time, ill be making enough to live comfortably.

I'm keep getting told that most people don't think on this level about where they are in society until they're much older. I'm glad I'm going through this now. The faster I can get to where I want to be, the sooner I can kick my feet up and chill inshAllah (God Willing)
