Baby Barringer Gender Reveal Part 1

Sorry it took so long to get this post up. I had some technical difficulties lol (as I seem to always have when I'm making videos). I got it tho! lol Thanks again to everyone to helped put this together. Check it out:

P.S. Justin, sorry I noticed that your picture somehow got excluded after I already exported the video. I hope that didn't happen to anyone else's pic. I promise it was there because I edited the photo a bit so that you could read the sign better on the screen :/ I'll still post your pic tho lol.  Consider this an exclusive shout out haha

This brings the boy tally to 30! We shall find out the results tomorrow :)

#TBT Throwback Song of The Day

Earlier today, I was sitting with Jarid, reminiscing on some old R&B songs (on YouTube). This eventually led me to think of some R. Kelly songs; one of which was, "Trapped in the Closet" lol.  I haven't heard these videos, let alone thought of them in YEARS. I was still crackin' up, listening to the lyrics, trying to sing along on any parts I could remember. Anyway, we had a great laugh lol.

I included a playlist of all the videos because you're probably not going to play just one lol. Enjoy!

Kustoms By LK SS14 'LEFT'

I'm very excited about this new product and collection by my friend, Lafayette Kanard. I watch his craftsmanship and artistic eye through Instagram and I'm always impressed. Just a little background on what the 'LEFT' Tee represents...

The 'LEFT' Tee is derived from Kustoms by LK's FW13 Collection 'Go LEFT' tees. They were picked up and sold by the number one luxury boutique in Philadelphia, Joan Shepp. The 'Go LEFT' tees sold out twice and now fused Art-Fashion Designer, Lafayette Kanard wants to keep "left" with another simple, yet both statement with meaning and depth behind it.

"Going LEFT was my right. I went LEFT into greatness. I put GOD first and followed my own heart." ~Lafayette Kanard

Here's a preview of the SS14 collection 'LEFT'...

You can find the collection at Joan Shepp, located on 1625 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA.
The 'LEFT' tee is retailing at $66.

Don't forget to check out his social media handles to stay updated on the latest Kustoms by LK releases:

A weekend at Allegany State Park

This past weekend, we got a chance to hang out with some of our good friends that we met in Erie (Adam and Alecia Hollinger). We traveled out to Allegany State Park this time. I don't know if many people remember, but Jarid and I went kayaking this summer on the Allegheny River in PA. For some reason, I must not have been paying attention because I thought we were going to the same area. It wasn't until we got there, that I found out that we were NOT in Pennsylvania anymore, but we were actually in NY. Its interesting how the two forests share the same tree line, but they're spelled differently... Allegany and Allegheny. Anyway, I thought I would share that little bit of info since it messed me up for a bit when I found out lol.

Those of you who know Jarid and me, know that we LOVE the outdoors and we especially love to camp. It was nice to find another couple who shared the same passion because the trip was a blast! Here's a recap of our weekend :)

Friday morning, we got up eager to pack up and head out for our trip. We've been collecting camping stuff over the years and were pretty excited to use some of the new stuff we got in between trips. It took us a little while to decide what we wanted to bring because we were trying to make it a goal to pack lightly...
... I don't know how well that really worked out for us because after stopping at several stores to get a few more things, were finally happy and on our way lol
We made it to Allegany State Park right before the sun went down.
When we got to the administration building, we were greeted by Adam, Alecia, and so much taxidermy!!
It was so realistic. I was very impressed.
I've never seen a bobcat before, but its side shag reminded me of a hippie.
This was pretty gross, but I had to take a pic of it because deep down, I thought it was pretty cool too. Its an embryo of a white-tailed deer!! The mother was injured and died, so someone decided to preserve the embryo. Its now 54 years old!
Here we are inside of our cabin. The concrete floors look dirty but this is luxury living compared to how we usually camp lol. There was a stove and two rooms with mattresses in them. In the past, Jarid and I have only camped in tents and lean-to's. It was way too cold out this time though.
Here we are at breakfast the next morning. I think one of the best parts about camping is the amount of time you can burn eating the snacks you brought lol. You know I love my snacks :)

I think this little contraption was the most impressive thing that either of us brought on the trip. I've never seen a portable coffee maker before.
Soon after breakfast, we had plans to go cross country skiing! Jarid and I had never tried it before so we were extra excited.
Disclaimer : I did research before deciding to ski, since I'm pregnant and all. It was safe for me and Alecia even added that its safe as long as I don't go higher than an altitude of 10,000 feet because its harder to breath.... I believe we only got up to 2,000 feet.
Here's Adam and Alecia, in the warming area, getting ready for the trails.
 Jarid and me right outside.
I was SO READY! I learned that it was the easiest to just follow the grooves made by the previous skiers.
There were many trails we could have taken, but we decided to take the one shortest in distance, (but not the easiest) Christian Hollow. We were also excited to see the vista, partly through the trail.
I do admit that I was the first person to fall, but it wasn't bad. I slipped on flat ground and the snow was a cushiony landing spot. This isn't me in the picture above. It's my husband lol. He kept us entertained by how much he kept falling...
 And falling...
 And falling... poor baby lol
We finally got to the vista and this was the amazing view. It was the perfect time to take a quick breather and have a snack :)
It was also a great place for a photo opp! I love this picture.
... well a couple of photo opps lol I love this picture too :)
When we got back to the cabin. The only thing on my mind was food and we planned on roasting a chicken over the campfire that night. I seasoned it with a chipotle pepper rub and let it cook over a hot bed of wood coals and a low fire. It was delicious with canned corn. I wish I would have taken an "after" pic of the cooked chicken and also what it looked like after dinner lol
The next morning, it was time for check out and we set out to find some beaver dams before we decided to make our way back home to Erie.
We pulled over and found what we thought were some, but weren't really sure. The frozen stream looked so cool to me.
We got back in our cars and out of nowhere, Adam spots a huge dam!
It was pretty amazing because we were able to notice the bite marks on the surrounding trees.
Here's Adam walking on the frozen stream
Alecia didn't like that too much lol. I thought it was a dangerous thing to do too.
This experience was amazing. I was completely satisfied with all of the fun we had with such great people!
Can't wait for the next trip!!
P.S. Jarid brought along some cameras to shoot film with. Hopefully he posts them to his photo-journal after they get developed. I'm excited to see the footage!

Happy New Year! A new chapter, a new journey...

2013 has been a GREAT year for me. So many changes... I feel like I've opened a new chapter in my life. Not only was I engaged and married, but I also moved out of NYC, into northwestern PA (Erie to be exact)... and now we're expecting :))) . I feel like a real grown up now lol.

I spend a lot of time at home (freelancing) and I kind of need to connect back with my old lifestyle a bit so that I don't go crazy lol. I always have so many thoughts in my mind and now that another new year has crept up on us, I want to share the journey that I've been going through.  Hopefully, I don't bore anyone lol. I'll try to be creative :)

I'll be documenting my first year of marriage as well as my pregnancy journey. So far, I'm 18 and a half weeks along and I'm loving every bit of it. We get to find out the gender of our little one in 3 weeks so you know that Jarid and I are at the edge of our seats! Stay tuned...

Here are some highlights from this year...

I think the first significant thing that happened was Jarid landing a job with the Erie Times News. We were all so proud of him, but it was bittersweet because it also meant that he had to move 7 hours away to Erie, PA.
Erie is located right on the edge of the US, on the infamous Lake Erie (one of the Great Lakes). It was great to see someone performing their true passion and getting paid for it. We were devising a plan for me to also get a job out in Erie so that we didn't have to be so far apart. I thought living 2 hours away was far enough.
Meanwhile.... back in NYC, I was staying busy. One weekend I got to watch these two little munchkins (my niece, Gavi, and her BFF, Kamiil)
Of course, I had them participating in a few arts & crafts in my room lol
And baby Kingston was growing so fast. Such a cutie pie.
That same month, (April) our good friends, Shina and Tyce tied the knot! We were soooo excited for them.
Dhamir, me, and Jarid goofing around during the wedding reception lol
At the beginning of May, Jarid and I signed a lease to our new apt.
...And then I was off to China for my last business trip. I had a lot to think about because I already knew that it was time to quit my job and start a new chapter in my life. Let's just say I prayed a whole lot for guidance the next couple of months.

Awww Kingston and Nicole during Father's day weekend. We had a cookout at Jarid's parents house.
At the end of the weekend I cut my hair! lol
At this point, it seemed like the fast forward button was hit in my life because Gavi had a major milestone by graduating preschool...
And then Jarid and I got engaged!!! (June 29) This was a crazy day for the both of us.
Can't forget that Zee turned 30 this year! lol (July 4)
I had to post this pic to reference how thick I want my eyebrows again. Don't mind it lol. By this point, I had already decided that I was leaving my job and was just waiting for my two weeks to run out. I was feeling great vibes and preparing for the next chapter.
Hanging out in NYC with some old friends from high school. This was literally a few days before ....
We decided to get married!! (July 18)
Although it was a small ceremony, we think it was perfect. My brother, sister, niece and friends (Tyce and Shina) were also there.
The next day was literally the last day of my "two weeks" and Jarid and I took the Amtrak HOME to Erie, PA. This ride took the entire day but we were happy to finally be married. It was still surreal at this point. Everything worked out perfectly.
The married life and summers in Erie are so much fun!
We were actually surprised at how much there was to do in this little city... And most of it was for free!
This was during our 2 day kayaking trip along the Allegheny River. We had the greatest time.
I was so happy when my mother in law came out to visit us in August. We definitely took advantage of all of the Erie summer fun, including the plethora of yard sales in the area. (She's a yard sale guru lol)
I also helped her make drapes for our windows! :) She's SOOOO talented on the sewing machine
Kingston turned 1 in September!
... And Gavi started Kindergarten!! She lost a few teeth too lol
Jadie and Ludys got engaged this month too! Look at that rock!!! lol
A funny thing happened at the end of September.... lol
Here is my favorite reaction of all! Nicole :)
Since our wedding ceremony was so small, we wanted to have a party so that our friends and family could celebrate with us. This party was a gift from my mother and father in law and we're sooo grateful that they did this for us.

The party was a blast!
Great food...
Great people...
What more can you ask for? :)
One of my favorite pics from that night :)
And then it was back to Erie. I couldn't believe how early it snows out here. I believe Erie is #1 for the most snowfall this winter, so far. We have Alaska beat.. They're #3
Look at our little Christmas tree :) This was our first Christmas together as a married couple and I felt like a kid again, opening gifts that morning!
We even had a few visitors this month (December). Jarid's parents
... and Justin, Nicole, and Kingston :)
Kingston is walking now, by the way :)
All in all, this was a wonderful year. Lots of laughs and love. I wouldn't have it any other way lol

That pretty much summarizes everything. I hope I wasn't too lengthy with all of the pics. Until next time ...   :)
