My mood, my thoughts..and the show goes on

I know I haven't been up on my blogging at all lately. I went through a series of occurrences that kind of caused me to keep to myself for the past few weeks. I'm sure I'm not the only one who does this, but sometimes I get into a mood where I really feel like I'm doing too much for people, and I ended up getting so exhausted and overwhelmed. My problem is that I have such a passion for seeing other people happy and satisfied, that I sacrifice my own happiness for it, without even thinking. There came a point where all of the responsibility got too heavy and stressful.... and for no reason. I mean... favors for people shouldn't feel like an obligation, right? My main concern was this strong feeling that I wasn't displaying my full potential to the world. I felt constrained to my everyday tasks to the point where it almost seemed forced... and that wasn't a cool feeling AT ALL.

So.. I took some time to be "selfish", live in the present moment, and really just sit around and do nothing for a change, without feeling guilty (besides my 9-5, of course). This quote really set it off for me:
"True silence is the rest of the mind; it is to the spirit what sleep is to the body, nourishment and refreshment." ~William Penn
... and this is just what I needed. In the silence, I was able to see people and situations in such a different light. I recommend it to everyone. Silence really is like nourishment and refreshment to the mind. Just make sure you stay positive through it all because its way too easy to fall into a dark place when you isolate yourself from your social life.

I was able to have a number of inspiring and motivational conversations with people who really made a point to reach out to me and show me how much they cared... and I appreciate you guys for that too :) (thank you). Over the weekend, I heard this song and it really lifted me up.... (i know im kinda late with it but so what lol):

The main thing I took out of this is that "the show goes on". Whenever you feel that you're in a bad situation, just think of someone who has it worse. Be grateful for the things you have and most of all, be grateful that you're alive to see another day. "Everyday is another chance to get it right", as Lauryn Hill says in her song, Peace of Mind.... so true. People who know me know that I'm a deep thinker and that I like to spread inspiring information that will penetrate and really make you ponder. After a few weeks of silence, I think I have a lot to say so stay tuned!

I wanna show ya'll where my potential really is. Its time to spread my wings...You never know what I have stirring in this mind of mine lol

P.S. Thanks Imani, for reminding me that I need to get back on my blogging lol :)
